My techniques and exercises are positive, vet-approved and dog-friendly. My methods are relationship-based and do not depend on bribery, coercion or domination. We will not use shock collars, “alpha rolling” or any harsh physical techniques.
Since joining Bark Busters in 2009, I have worked with thousands of dogs and clients in many different circumstances. I maintain professional certifications with Bark Busters, the American Kennel Club (AKC) and the Certification Council for Professional Dog Trainers (CCPDT). In 2018 I earned the designation of Master Dog Trainer and Behavioral Therapist from Bark Busters International. My education and experiences were a perfect match for a Bark Busters business. Prior to Bark Busters I managed and trained people full-time in the healthcare community. During that time, I earned a master’s degree in business management (MBA), volunteered with the Humane Society and trained dogs part-time. Now I am blessed to work with dogs (and their owners) full-time and love to learn from them every day. There’s nothing more gratifying to me than finding a solution for every single client who reaches out to me.
In some respects, dogs are like people. Each has a unique personality, a unique set of experiences and a unique environment. In many ways, dogs are very different from people. They learn differently, remember experiences differently and use their senses differently to experience the world. A dog communicates in ways that vary so much from the way people do, that it can lead to misunderstandings.
I am happy to share my knowledge and experience to help you and your family understand your dogs and improve the relationships using simple, dog-tested, proven techniques.
Each case is different in some ways. I can customize the training to meet your specific situation. One of the reasons I enjoy in-home training is being able to see all the variables that are impacting the dog and the people. I can help reduce the ones that have a negative effect and speed up the training process as much as possible.
I believe in our dog training method so strongly that I offer guaranteed lifetime support. I will return free of charge to work with you if any new dog behavioral issues arise. In other words, I will be your dog’s coach for life at no additional charge! You will always have someone to help when you need it.
